Following his turn as a brooding film director in 2025\u2019s pensive drama Our Movie<\/em><\/span>, Namkoong Min bumps up the tempo for The Husband<\/em>, a mile-a-minute thriller about a collapsing marriage thrown into further turmoil when a kidnapper enters the picture.<\/div>\n
In an opening that echoes the mysterious romantic thrills of Park Chan-wook<\/span>\u2019s 2022 film Decision to Leave<\/em><\/span>, Kang Tae-ju (Namkoong) and his wife Ko Se-yun (Lee Seol, who also appeared in Our Movie<\/em>) engage in some daring early morning rock climbing before greeting the sunrise with smiles.<\/div>\n
Smash cut to several years later, and the picture is very different. The couple, now decidedly sour-faced, sit on stage in a hospital auditorium as Se-yun\u2019s hospital director father, Ko Dong-chan (Jang Gwang, Low Life<\/em><\/span>), gives a speech.<\/div>\n

Just as Dong-chan calls his star surgeon son-in-law up to make a speech, Tae-ju is abruptly called away for an emergency operation. Later that day, he is due to perform a minor operation on one of the hospital\u2019s VIP sponsors, only to suddenly delay the procedure to attend to another patient in urgent need.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
