Singapore\u2019s Ministry of Manpower has confirmed the public holiday dates for 2027. That means it\u2019s time to start planning your leave days \u2013 whether you\u2019re aiming to maximise long weekends for quick regional getaways or stretch your leave for more adventurous, longer trips.<\/p>\n

There are five long weekends in 2027<\/strong>, one less than this year but better than the four we saw in 2025, though 2023 was the best in recent times with eight!<\/p>\n

On these dates you\u2019ll get three days off without having to take any<\/strong> leave whatsoever, but they are sure to prove popular next year, as always.<\/p>\n

These long weekends can be easily extended to a 4-day break, for taking only a single leave day at either side, and the good news is that two public holidays fall on a Thursday in 2027, unlocking two additional options if that\u2019s your strategy.<\/p>\n

That gives you a total of seven 4-day weekend opportunities<\/strong>, if you\u2019re willing to part with a single leave day.<\/p>\n

Note that when a public holiday falls on a Sunday, the following day (Monday) is the observed holiday \u2013 your day off work.<\/p>\n

This year that affects the second day of Chinese New Year.<\/p>\n

When a public holiday falls on a Saturday, there is no benefit for those not normally working at the weekend, which unfortunately affects the first day of Chinese New Year, Labour Day and Christmas Day in 2027.<\/p>\n
