Wherever I travel, I love to immerse myself in a new place on foot. It is the best way to notice the detail, experience the sights, smells and sounds first hand, and get a real sense of everyday life there.<\/p>\n

So when I heard about a run-cation on Rapa Nui \u2013 also known as Easter Island<\/span> \u2013 I knew this was just the trip for me.<\/div>\n
Organised by event company Rat Race, it is a five-day tour of the small, remote Pacific island<\/span> famous for its monolithic stone humanoid monuments that brings together landscape, heritage and spiritual well-being.<\/div>\n

On the fourth day, there is a 50km (31-mile) run\/hike, which is structured like a race but is not officially timed.<\/p>\n

The package includes accommodation, meals and all excursions, and it is possible to extend your stay on either side of the event dates.<\/p>\n
