KUALA LUMPUR, July 4 \u2014 The launch of the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ) Master Plan needs to be strategically coordinated to ensure policy alignment and a smooth implementation, while reinforcing investor confidence.<\/p>\n
The Ministry of Economy said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim\u2019s decision to align the launch of the master plan with the Malaysia-Singapore Leaders\u2019 Retreat in the fourth quarter of this year reflects the government\u2019s strategy to secure bilateral commitment at the highest level, while enhancing global publicity.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Economy Minister Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir said JS-SEZ\u2019s progress should be assessed based on tangible outcomes and economic impact.<\/p>\n
\u201cCurrent investment data shows that the confidence of both domestic and international investors in Johor remains strong and consistent,\u201d he said in a statement today.<\/p>\n
The ministry said it will continue to strengthen cooperation with the Johor state government and implementing agencies to ensure the orderly implementation of the JS-SEZ.<\/p>\n
It added that the initiative is also intended to serve as a competitive, inclusive and sustainable model for economic cooperation, boosting investment opportunities, generating high-value income, and delivering benefits to the people. \u2014 Bernama<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
