And like a lot of Zelda games, you have a fairy companion chatting with you throughout. Faie the fairy talks with Elliot, and she talks a lot. Arguably too much! But if you don’t want her to chime in quite so often, the settings menu has a fix for that.

In the Game Settings menu, under the Basic Settings header, is an option called “Partner chattiness.” By default this is set to “Talkative,” but you can switch it at any time to “Reticent.” For most of the game, your partner is Faie, though for a little while near the beginning you’re partnered with the princess, Heuria.

This will impact Faie’s demeanor as you explore the world. She chimes in quite a bit, giving hints for puzzles, making observations about your battles, and so on. It can be a little annoying, so it’s nice to have the option to quiet her down. She will still talk sometimes in combat and exploration, but not as much, and she’ll still make sounds to react when you, for example, take a hit from an enemy. She’ll also still talk as normal for regular dialogue sequences and cutscenes.

In my Adventures of Elliot review, I noted that the strong battle mechanics and customization were undercut by the characters–including Elliot himself–being talkative and overexplaining plot points and motivations. Getting Faie to quiet down doesn’t really resolve that issue, but if you find her squeaky voice and commentary irritating, it will at least occur less often this way.

The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales is Square Enix’s take on a classic Zelda-style action-adventure game, complete with a sword-swinging protagonist and bombable walls….

[32
9129,15814,6880,11583,2708
post-62052","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-tech-gadgets-reviews","tag-adventures","tag-elliot","tag-mandatory","tag-minor","tag-setting","wpcat-32-id
["GET
