Leaders adopted several outcome documents, including the Kazan Declaration, which reviews the progress of ASEAN-Russia relations over the past 35 years and charts the direction for future cooperation.<\/span><\/p>\n They also adopted a joint statement on cultural cooperation to strengthen people-to-people ties and cultural exchanges, as well as the ASEAN-Russia Comprehensive Plan of Action (2026\u20132030), which will guide practical cooperation for the next five years.<\/span><\/p>\n Mr Wong met Mr Putin at Russia\u2019s request as part of the programme, with the leaders exchanging views on bilateral relations and regional and international developments. MFA said that the prime minister looked forward to working with Russia under Singapore\u2019s ASEAN Chairmanship in 2027.<\/span><\/p>\n On the sidelines of the summit,\u00a0<\/span>Mr Wong also met the Rais, or head, of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov. They discussed cooperation in areas including cultural, educational and people-to-people ties.<\/span><\/p>\n Singapore and Tatarstan share longstanding ties, dating back to then-Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew\u2019s visit to Tatarstan in 2007, the ministry said.<\/span><\/p>\n
