\u201cA common theme that comes up is how trauma manifests in their daily lives,\u201d Raag said. \u201cA member mentioned how she often can\u2019t sleep, wondering where these images might be and who has their hands on them.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThere\u2019s also this notion of anticipatory caution, feeling very worried, almost phobic of online spaces,\u201d she added. \u201cOthers have shared about the anger and the non-linear nature of it, how some days they feel like they\u2019ve healed then other days, they\u2019re back in that storm.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n This is when gathering with other victim-survivors helps \u2013 hearing others’ experiences and finding comfort in other women, Raag said.<\/span><\/p>\n The group\u00a0took part in the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women\u00a0Conference 2025, organised by AWARE annually, in November 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n They ran a booth to educate the public about IBSA and The Moxie Collective, and Raag also presented a seminar session on IBSA.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cTo be able to advocate for a non-clinical, peer-led model as a legitimate form of care, among other attendees such as case workers, clinical psychologists and lawyers, and to have people tell us that they saw meaning in our work, that was a very proud moment for me,\u201d said Raag.<\/span><\/p>\n Yiu added: \u201cWe had doubts about whether we were on the right track, whether we were necessary in this space. To be at that conference and have people affirm our experiences really made me feel like we were doing something meaningful.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cPersonally, as a self-funded community, I felt seen and deeply touched by the outpouring of support and the potential for future collaborations.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n It\u2019s also not just women who need to understand IBSA.
