Of all the games announced over the past couple of weeks at Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo, and Summer Game Fest showcases, Capcom’s remake, Resident Evil Veronica, is proving to be the most popular.<\/p>\n

The latest GameDiscoverGo newsletter tracked which games were most wishlisted on Steam after their reveals, and Resident Evil Veronica<\/em> earned the top spot with 803,000 wishlists. It had over 300,000 more people interested in it than ArenaNet’s Guild Wars 3 <\/em>(496,000) and Panache Digital Games’ 1666: Amsterdam<\/em> (494,000), which took second and third place on the list, respectively. <\/p>\n

    GameDiscoverGo isn’t the only proof of Resident Evil Veronica’s<\/em> popularity, though. The Game Business shared data from marketing analytics company LevelUp that also showed Resident Evil Veronica<\/em> was the third top-performing game in terms of trailer performance, community engagement, and press coverage. It only out to first-party console exclusives such as The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time’s<\/em> remake and God of War: Laufey<\/em>.<\/p>\n

    In terms of AAA third-party game announcements, it’s clear that Resident Evil gVeronica<\/em> is the most dominant title. There are likely many factors that influenced its success. It was the first reveal of the main Summer Game Fest showcase, for starters, so it was an announcement people were guaranteed to see if they tuned into the show when it began.<\/p>\n

    We’re also coming off the launch of Resident Evil Requiem<\/em>, which has sold quite well and is one of 2026’s best-reviewed games. There’s clearly a lot of interest in where the Resident Evil franchise goes next, especially as Capcom didn’t actually reveal that much about the game as part of its initial announcement. That said, Polygon learned that it would be a third-person action game being treated like a main, numbered Resident Evil entry. <\/p>\n

    Resident Evil Veronica<\/em> will be released by Capcom for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X sometime in 2027. <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
