Cantonese steamed fish is something I always order at tze char, but honestly it’s way easier to make at home than you’d think. Ingredients 400g grouper fillet (or cod / pomfret) Ginger slices Scallions 10g Shaoxing wine 10g Salt Sauce 30g light soy sauce Splash of water 15g A few drops of sesame oil 30g Store-bought fried garlic (trust me on this) Instructions 1. Pat fish dry, season with salt and Shaoxing wine 2. Steam on high heat for 12 mins with ginger and scallion 3. Mix soy sauce, water and sesame oil into a sauce 4. Once fish is done, top with fresh ginger and scallion, pour sauce over 5. Finish with smoking hot oil Adding fried garlic to the sauce and it completely changed the dish. More depth, more flavour, and I genuinely can’t go back to plain steamed fish anymore! Try this next time you’re tired of chicken. Promise it won’t disappoint. #cantonesesteamedfish #tzechar #homecooking #sgfood #junscipe

♬ original sound – J U N – J U N

@wei.junnn

Cantonese Steamed Fish 🐟 Sick of chicken?
