SINGAPORE \u2013 Singapore electric motorcycle maker Scorpio Electric has received conditional approval from the Land Transport Authority (LTA) to register its flagship model here.<\/p>\n
The LTA vehicle-type approval paves the way for its Lambda Scorpii bikes to be used on the roads in Singapore.<\/p>\n
This will also facilitate the next steps of \u201cmass production scaling and commercial road readiness\u201d, it said in an SGX filing on June 11.<\/p>\n
Scorpio CEO Joshua Goh said in a statement: \u201cThis milestone brings us one step closer to delivering a unique and exhilarating urban mobility experience to riders in Singapore, and all over the world.\u201d<\/p>\n
Scorpio was launched as an EV start-up in 2017 by EuroSports Global, an SGX-listed distributor of ultra-luxury cars.<\/p>\n
The motorcycle maker added it is working to comply with LTA conditions to prepare for client deliveries in Singapore.<\/p>\n
Scorpio is working on sharing information with the Singapore Civil Defence Force to aid emergency responses, as well as ensuring technical and charging infrastructure compliance with Singapore\u2019s systems, among other things.<\/p>\n
Further details on delivery timelines and specifications on the Lambda Scorpii to be offered in Singapore will be shared \u201cin the near future\u201d, it said.<\/p>\n
The Lambda Scorpii, named after a star in the Scorpius constellation, had in 2025 obtained a similar vehicle type approval for the European Union, meaning it met requirements for safety, environmental and technical standards in the EU.<\/p>\n
The motorcycle, previously known as the X1, has a recommended sale price of \u20ac10,000 (S$14,860) in Europe.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
