Samsung may be moving away from an all-Exynos strategy for its next-generation foldable flip phone.<\/p>\n
According to Korean publication The Bell, the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip8 is expected to adopt a dual-chip strategy,<\/b> reversing course from the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7, which was powered exclusively by the Exynos 2500.<\/p>\n
The report claims that Samsung will equip the Galaxy Z Flip8 with the Exynos 2600<\/b> in Europe <\/b>and South Korea<\/b>, while other markets <\/b>\u2013 including Asia, Australia, and North America \u2013 will receive a variant powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy.<\/p>\n
This split-chip approach is believed to be driven by economics. With component costs continuing to rise across the smartphone industry, Samsung is reportedly looking to balance performance, supply chain flexibility, and profitability. The Exynos 2600 is particularly notable as the world\u2019s first 2nm mobile processor and currently powers the Samsung Galaxy S26 and Samsung Galaxy S26+ in select markets, including Singapore.<\/p>\n
In our review of the Galaxy S26 and S26+, the Exynos 2600 delivered noticeably improved battery life and modest gains in thermal efficiency, helping to address some of the concerns associated with earlier Exynos generations.<\/p>\n
Samsung is widely expected to unveil the Galaxy Z Flip8 at its next Galaxy Unpacked event, which is rumoured to take place in London next month. The event could be one of Samsung\u2019s biggest launches of the year, with the company also tipped to announce the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Wide, Galaxy Glasses, and the Samsung Galaxy Watch9 series.<\/p>\n
