As the dust settles from last week’s chaotic BTS Singapore ticket sales, social media continues to be flooded with stories from battle-scarred fans who survived the Great Ticketmaster War, according to some fans.<\/p>\n
One such fan, named Nova, may have shared what is arguably the most Singaporean BTS ticket story of them all.<\/p>\n
In a now-viral Instagram video, the 23-year-old artist recounted how her father suddenly burst into her room while she was trying to secure tickets during the BTS ARMY membership pre-sale.<\/p>\n
The reason? He believed he could help.<\/p>\n
\u201cI didn\u2019t even ask, [and] he just burst into my room like this, he said, \u2018There\u2019s an ARMY membership presale, I have ARMY membership\u2019,\u201d she shared.<\/p>\n
At first, Nova immediately dismissed the idea, before he declared, “I served this nation!\u201d<\/p>\n
If you don’t know by now, ARMY in the BTS universe refers to their fans.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy immediate reaction was \u2018No you don\u2019t\u2019 It was a pretty deadpan reaction, and immediately I was like 90% sure there was some kind of misunderstanding,\u201d she tells 8days.sg<\/p>\n
Nova also shared with us that she ended up explaining to her dad the intricacies of how the fandom for every K-pop group has a name.<\/p>\n
“And immediately his face falls, but then he starts laughing really hard,” she tells us.<\/p>\n
But it seems her explanation did not stick entirely, as this was when he later went, \u201cOhhh\u2026 you have to serve in the Korean military.”<\/p>\n
As you can already tell, her dad wasn\u2019t joking.<\/p>\n
According to Nova, her dad had spent 30 minutes trying to key in his SAFRA membership in hopes of gaining access to the BTS ARMY pre-sale.<\/p>\n
She then tells us this was when he realised the misunderstanding, and said he went, “Aw man waste my time!” and how he had wasted 30 minutes.<\/p>\n
In the end, Nova shares with us that she managed to get tickets, spending about S$208 per ticket.<\/p>\n
So what does her dad think about being part of the viral video?<\/p>\n
Nova tells 8days.sg that she was initially nervous about telling him, and only decided to give him the heads up after we reached out to her.<\/p>\n
“I told him it got 50K views [on IG], and read out the all the comments, telling him he was the best, and cutest dad ever, and he was extremely pleased,” she said.<\/p>\n
Netizens were tickled by the exchange between Nova and her dad, many pointing out how adorable her dad was.<\/p>\n
\u201cEven if you did not win the ticket war, you have won in life with a father like this,\u201d read a comment.<\/p>\n
To which Nova replied that she truly did.<\/p>\n
Another wrote: \u201cSAFRA can consider doing something for the next BTS tour!\u201d<\/p>\n
The K-pop group was last in Singapore in 2019 for their Love Yourself World Tour<\/em>, before taking a break in 2022 to begin their mandatory military enlistment.<\/p>\n They are set to return to Singapore to perform at the National Stadium on December 17, 19, 20, and 22 as part of their Arirang World Tour<\/em>.<\/p>\n According to Ticketmaster Singapore, all 220K tickets have been sold<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
