Microsoft has unveiled a special-edition Xbox Series X console to mark the gaming brand\u2019s 25th anniversary<\/b>, and it might just be the closest thing yet to a modern recreation of the original Xbox\u2019s iconic translucent green aesthetic.<\/p>\n
Revealed during the Xbox Games Showcase 2026, the Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition<\/b> retains the same hardware specifications as the standard Xbox Series X, including 1TB of storage, but wraps it in a translucent OG Green<\/b> shell inspired by the original \u201cLaunch Team Edition\u201d Xbox console that launched in 2001.<\/p>\n
The console also features a green-illuminated Xbox logo on the front when powered on, alongside a commemorative 25th Anniversary badge and several hidden design touches intended as nods to long-time Xbox fans.<\/p>\n Image: Xbox<\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n Xbox is also giving the anniversary treatment to a matching Xbox Wireless Controller X25 Special Edition<\/b>. Finished in the same translucent green colourway, the controller brings back the original coloured ABXY face buttons and includes design references to the original Xbox \u201cDuke\u201d<\/b> controller, including bumper details inspired by its black and white buttons. The rear shell and battery compartment are also transparent, revealing the classic Xbox logo beneath.<\/p>\n While Microsoft has confirmed that the console and controller will launch in November as a limited-edition bundle in selected markets, the company has yet to announce pricing or specific availability details.
