{"id":58973,"date":"2026-06-08T08:36:00","date_gmt":"2026-06-08T00:36:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sgbuzz.com\/?p=58973"},"modified":"2026-06-08T08:36:00","modified_gmt":"2026-06-08T00:36:00","slug":"chinese-photographers-serve-up-a-visual-feast-at-world-food-photography-awards-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sgbuzz.com\/?p=58973","title":{"rendered":"Chinese photographers serve up a visual feast at World Food Photography Awards 2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div id=\"\">\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">Nine Chinese photographers have triumphed in the annual World Food Photography Awards, with 12 finalist images and one category winner chosen from a competitive pool of 9,000 entries from 50 countries.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">Song Pingyao won the Food for Celebration category with an image titled \u201cThe Festival of Food Enthusiasts\u201d, depicting diners gathered for a communal banquet.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">Taken from a bird\u2019s-eye view, dozens of tables laid out with simmering hotpot and plates of fresh ingredients such as beef, tofu and tripe create a kaleidoscope of colour, with participants in various states of eating and socialising.<\/p>\n<div datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1xdhyk6 ec74h0k0\">\u201cThrough tasting, sharing and interaction, they convey the authentic flavours and lively atmosphere of <span data-qa=\"Component-Text\" class=\"css-0 ef9u0v00\">Sichuan hotpot<\/span> to food lovers across China and around the world,\u201d reads the World Food Photography Awards notes on the image.<\/div>\n<div datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1xdhyk6 ec74h0k0\">A \u201chighly commended\u201d image in the same category was taken by Chinese photographer <span data-qa=\"Component-Text\" class=\"css-0 ef9u0v00\">Yang Zhonghua<\/span>, which shows the epic annual \u201cThousand-Person Feast\u201d held by locals in Dongmen Fishing Village in Shipu Town in Ningbo, Zhejiang province.
