The Finland-based company’s newest product comes more than a decade after the first Oura Ring was launched, and the fifth-generation iteration brings a suite of new health-tracking features.

But before that, the company was keen to promote the fact that the Oura Ring 5 is 40% smaller than the previous generation Ring 4, making it (as the company claims) the smallest smart ring in the world.

It’s interesting that Oura would make this a prominent selling point, considering that neither comfort nor looks were the sore points of the Oura Ring 4 (as we noted in our review), but we suppose it’s a welcome improvement for a product category that’s meant to be as unobtrusive as possible.

Blood Pressure Signals is one feature of the new Health Radar tracking system, but will only roll out to certain regions (at least for now).

Image: Oura.

On health monitoring, one of the main draws of the Oura Ring 5 is Health Radar, which consists of two main measurements: Blood Pressure Signals and Nighttime Breathing.

The former not only tracks and alerts users of increasing blood pressure, but also tracks blood pressure during sleep.
