A resident was unhappy after catching a food delivery rider leaving an empty bottle at a Yishun lift lobby on May 28.<\/p>\n
Stomper R <\/strong>shared footage of the incident that occurred at about 8.44pm, showing the rider \u2014 who was wearing a Foodpanda<\/a> shirt and carrying a plastic bag \u2014 placing the bottle on a ledge before walking away.<\/p>\n \u201cI caught this Foodpanda delivery rider leaving behind a drink bottle,\u201d said the Stomper.<\/p>\n \u201cIsn\u2019t this considered littering<\/a>? There is a rubbish chute further down and he would definitely have seen it before delivering the food.\u201d<\/p>\n The Stomper said she picked up and disposed of the bottle herself.<\/p>\n She emphasised that she did not want the man to \u201cbe let off easily\u201d.<\/p>\n According to the Stomper, rubbish is frequently left behind at her floor\u2019s lift lobby.<\/p>\n \u201cThe lift lobby seems to be like a rubbish chute for many,\u201d she said. \u201cIt happens at any time of the day, so it\u2019s difficult to identify a pattern. Most of the time it\u2019s done by random people.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThese offenders need to be dealt with.\u201d<\/p>\n Stomp understands that Foodpanda does not condone littering or behaviour that inconveniences residents or negatively impacts shared community spaces. Its delivery partners are expected to conduct themselves responsibly and will be reminded of these expectations.<\/p>\n Under the Environmental Public Health Act<\/a>, the maximum fine for a littering offence is $2,000 for the first court conviction, $4,000 for the second conviction, and $10,000 for the third and subsequent convictions.<\/p>\n Stomp has reached out to Nee Soon Town Council for comment.<\/p>\n Have something to say?
