{"id":57697,"date":"2026-06-03T15:01:05","date_gmt":"2026-06-03T07:01:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sgbuzz.com\/?p=57697"},"modified":"2026-06-03T15:01:05","modified_gmt":"2026-06-03T07:01:05","slug":"spatial-computing-and-vision-pro-in-healthcare","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sgbuzz.com\/?p=57697","title":{"rendered":"Spatial computing and Vision Pro in healthcare"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div xmlns:default=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg\">\n<p class=\"_base_1s8rd_1 _default_1s8rd_12\">I\u2019ve always maintained that the Vision Pro is one of the most interesting and cutting-edge pieces of tech that I\u2019ve reviewed in my nearly 20 years of evaluating tech for a living.<\/p>\n<p class=\"_base_1s8rd_1 _default_1s8rd_12\">The idea that you could open, run, and manipulate apps in space, and then interact with them in space, by wearing what\u2019s effectively a large goggle, has always seemed far-fetched and incredulous. Created by Vina Setiawaty and Benedict Woo, the app can also help in recovery by showing step-by-step rehab instructions.\u00a0Although the app currently\u00a0only\u00a0shows ACL tears, it can be expanded to other injuries.<\/p>\n<p class=\"_base_1s8rd_1 _default_1s8rd_12\">Another app that caught my eye was <b>Spatial Ward<\/b>,\u00a0an app that\u00a0uses the Vision Pro to help designers plan hospital layouts.\u00a0By using the Vision Pro, designers can better visualise the\u00a0working space\u00a0and how the hospital\u00a0space\u00a0might end up looking.\u00a0Demonstrating the app, the creators, Charles Cai and Bryan Kuok, showed\u00a0off\u00a0how\u00a0the app\u00a0could be used to plan an operating theatre.\u00a0<b>It was impressive because the app could even\u00a0take\u00a0rules and restrictions\u00a0into account<\/b>,\u00a0like\u00a0how close an IV drip holder can be placed to the bed.\u00a0It could even simulate\u00a0air flow\u00a0from the air-con, so designers can see how\u00a0that\u00a0might affect the operating theatre.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"_figure_wioo3_1\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"_base_12j3k_1\" alt=\"Spatial Ward demo\" loading=\"lazy\" sizes=\"auto\" Pro can be\u00a0put to use\u00a0in interesting ways.\u00a0<b>Parekh said he was optimistic about the future of the Vision Pro as a platform\u00a0of\u00a0spatial computing<\/b> and that it was exciting to see how students are envisioning\u00a0the\u00a0future\u00a0of spatial computing\u00a0and how the Vision Pro can be put to use in many varied use cases.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"_base_1s8rd_1 _default_1s8rd_12\">He thought Mediview could be beneficial\u00a0to\u00a0patients suffering from injuries because it can be hard to remember how to do\u00a0the\u00a0physical therapy exercises, and in the case of Spatialward, he said it allows designers to <b>\u201creally see it come to life and make good decisions\u201d<\/b> about how the space should look.<\/p>\n<p class=\"_base_1s8rd_1 _default_1s8rd_12\">Overall, the showcase demonstrates that spatial computing is really still in its nascency and that there\u2019s untapped potential still in the Vision Pro.\u00a0There\u2019s talk that Apple is putting development of future Vision Pro headsets\u00a0aside\u00a0to focus on smart glasses, and while\u00a0that is undoubtedly the more prudent move, I hope\u00a0that\u00a0they\u00a0do\u00a0revisit the Vision Pro at some point\u00a0in the future.\u00a0Imagine what more could be done if Apple comes up with a more powerful and lighter version of the
