An ageing corporate mogul and an up-and-coming football star trade places in the body-swap drama Reborn Rookie<\/em>. If the name and concept sound vaguely familiar, that is because the show is based on a web novel by San Kyung, who also penned the story of the smash-hit fantasy drama Reborn Rich<\/em><\/span>.<\/em><\/div>\n
While Reborn Rookie<\/em> takes place against a similar backdrop and was made by the same production company (SLL, formerly JTBC Studios), it boasts a different energy to its spiritual predecessor, thanks in large part to the creative force of showrunner Kim Soon-ok, the mind behind The Penthouse<\/em><\/span>, the soap opera sensation that ran for three seasons<\/span>.<\/div>\n
The prolific Lee Jun-young, a former member of the K-pop outfit U-Kiss who appeared in six films and dramas in 2025\u2013 among them When Life Gives You Tangerines<\/em><\/span> and Weak Hero Class 2<\/em><\/span> \u2013 leads the show as Hwang Jun-hyeon, a promising young athlete who has just gone pro with the Choiseong Football Club.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
