Instead, it was a reminder of something AMD has spent the last decade building its reputation on: platform longevity.

Leading the announcements were two new X3D processors aimed at very different audiences. One looks back at the platform that helped establish AMD’s resurgence among PC enthusiasts, while the other offers a more affordable entry point into the company’s newer AM5 ecosystem.

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D 10th Anniversary Edition

The headline-grabbing reveal was arguably the AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D 10th Anniversary Edition. Released to celebrate a decade of the AM4 platform, the processor marks the return of what many gamers (we gave a 9/10 score n our review) still consider one of the most influential gaming CPUs AMD has ever produced.

After all, the original Ryzen 7 5800X3D was team red’s first desktop processor to feature the revolutionary 3D V-Cache technology, which combine a Zen 3 architecture with an enlarged cache design that delivered surprisingly strong gaming. Even today, the chip remains a popular upgrade choice for existing AM4 users.

For the anniversary edition, AMD is bundling the processor with Carbice Ice Pad thermal interface material and positioning it as both a collector’s piece and a final celebration of the AM4 ecosystem.

AMD Ryzen 7700X3D

Alongside the new 5800X3D, AMD also introduced the new Ryzen 7 7700X3D for the AM5 platform.

Designed as a more accessible entry point into AMD’s 3D V-Cache family, the processor features eight cores, 104MB of total cache and boost clock speeds of up to 4.5GHz. AMD says the chip is intended to bring X3D gaming performance to a wider audience without forcing buyers into the higher-end pricing territory occupied by some of its flagship Ryzen processors.

More significantly, AMD used the launch to confirm that Socket AM5 will now remain supported through 2029.

The announcement extends AMD’s previous commitment and means future Ryzen processors will continue to be compatible with the AM5 platform for several more years. This is without a doubt great news for existing AM5 owners, as it leaves their motherboard a very long runway for future processor upgrade.

It’s also a continuation of the strategy that helped make AM4 such a success. AMD supported the socket for nearly a decade across multiple CPU generations, allowing many users to upgrade processors while keeping much of the rest of their system intact. With AM5 now receiving similar treatment, there might be a possibility that we’ll see a 10th Anniversary Edition for the Ryzen 7700X3D when the time comes.

AMD Radeon RX 9070 GRE graphics cards

Then there’s the Radeon RX 9070 GRE graphics card.

Previously limited to the China market, the card is now heading worldwide with an SRP US$549. Based on AMD’s RDNA 4 architecture, the Radeon RX 9070 GRE features 48 compute units, 12GB of memory and boost clock speeds of up to 2.79GHz. AMD positions the card as a 1440p gaming solution sitting between the Radeon RX 9060 XT and Radeon RX 9070 in its product stack.

Our review of the card is in progress, so stay tuned.

Availability and pricing

The Ryzen 7 5800X3D 10th Anniversary Edition will launch on 25 June with an SRP of US$349.

The Ryzen 7 7700X3D will be available from 16 July and carries an SRP of US$329.

The Radeon RX 9070 GRE will be available globally through AMD’s AIB partners beginning 2 June for US$549++.

AMD has announced a fresh wave of gaming-focused hardware at Computex 2026, but perhaps the more interesting part of it is that it’s not a…

[32
14145,23963,8958,4131,16087,10175
post-57393","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-tech-gadgets-reviews","tag-5800x3d","tag-7700x3d","tag-amd","tag-launches","tag-revives","tag-ryzen","wpcat-32-id
["GET
