Pok\u00e9mon Go<\/em> has its own version of the notorious Team Rocket, called Team Go Rocket<\/strong>. In this Pok\u00e9mon Go<\/em> guide, we\u2019ll break down how to find leaders Sierra, Cliff, and Arlo<\/strong> and take them down.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Below, we list their parties and strategies as they stand in June 2026<\/strong>, with the most recent changes following the Team Go Rocket Takeover event that activated alongside the arrival of the “Steeled Resolve” event in April.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Team Go Rocket leaders can be found in black Pok\u00e9Stops or hot air balloons flying above you with a Rocket Radar equipped<\/strong>.<\/p>\n To get a Rocket Radar, you must get six Mysterious Components, with one regular Go Team Rocket encounter rewarding one Mysterious Component each.<\/p>\n With the Rocket Radar equipped, you will then encounter a leader at random. The three leaders are Sierra, Arlo, and Cliff.<\/p>\n Previously, some Timed Research and Team Go Rocket Special Research tasks required you to beat all three leaders. Completing this Team Go Rocket Special Research will reward you with a Super Rocket Radar, allowing you to find the boss, Giovanni. Beating Giovanni will net you a legendary shadow Pok\u00e9mon. As of the “Steeled Resolve” event in April 2026, there isn’t any new Special Research to compete to earn the Super Rocket Radar<\/strong>. Instead, you need to participate in the Go Pass before the event ends, if you want to battle Giovanni. Defeating each leader does contribute 200 points (two ranks) to the Go Pass.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Sierra\u2019s team is:<\/p>\n Based on our tests and reports from players, Sierra’s team is unchanged this time around, except for the starting Duskull.<\/p>\n You can use ghost- or dark-types against the Duskull, but you shouldn’t have to worry too much about it, as the lead Pok\u00e9mon in these line-ups are usually<\/em> weaker. You should focus on other Pok\u00e9mon that will help take out her second and third slots instead. Though coming in to scope out her team first is recommended, if you come equipped with fighting- <\/strong>and fire-type moves<\/strong>, you’ll have a bit of an advantage. Her party is pretty diverse (as usual), so we also recommend using ground<\/strong>-, rock<\/strong>-, ice<\/strong>-, or water<\/strong>-type moves to help fill in the gaps where you’re struggling. Here’s some of the strongest Pok\u00e9mon for those typings:<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Arlo\u2019s team is:<\/p>\n Arlo’s team is mostly the same, though he’s swapped out one of his second Pok\u00e9mon for Gigalith and he, as expected, now has a new Pok\u00e9mon in his first slot: Pineco. You can mostly use the same counters from his previous line-up.<\/p>\n Arlo loves steel-types, which means you can burn him down quickly with fire<\/strong>–type <\/strong>moves, if his party is filled with those metallic beasts. You can also use <\/strong>ghost<\/strong>-, water<\/strong>-, and dark<\/strong>–types <\/strong>to make pretty quick work of his team this time.<\/p>\n Here’s some of the strongest Pok\u00e9mon of those types:<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Cliff\u2019s team is:<\/p>\n Cliff’s team is the most jarring change this time around. He now leads with a Snorlax (which is always annoying to deal with, since it’s so tanky), and his second Pok\u00e9mon line-up has completely changed.<\/p>\n The rest of his team is pretty diverse, so you definitely may need to scope this fight out ahead of time. There are a few move types that will give you an edge: ground<\/strong>-, ghost<\/strong>-, steel<\/strong>-, and water-types<\/strong>. Given that Snorlax can be tanky and annoying, we also recommend bringing a powerful fighting<\/strong>-type Pok\u00e9mon to deal with that.
