SINGAPORE \u2013 A performer for a show at Universal Studios Singapore (USS) in Sentosa who suffered a medical emergency<\/span><\/a> during a training session last week has died, said Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) on May 26.<\/p>\n Investigations are ongoing, but the police do not suspect foul play, based on preliminary investigations.<\/p>\n The man\u2019s fellow performers had noticed that he was in distress during the incident on May 19 and provided assistance immediately, said an RWS spokesperson in a media reply on May 22. The USS theme park is within the integrated resort.<\/p>\n The police said they received a call for assistance at RWS at about 10.30am on May 19. The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) also received a call for assistance at about the same time at 30 Sentosa Gateway, which is the address for USS.<\/p>\n A 42-year-old man was taken to Singapore General Hospital, where he later died, said the police and the SCDF.<\/p>\n RWS did not provide any details about the individual, when he died, or the nature of the medical emergency in its statement on May 26.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are deeply saddened by the passing of a WaterWorld performer and send our condolences to the family, our show vendor and his fellow performers during this very difficult time,\u201d said RWS executive vice-president of attractions and destination Lena Lee.<\/p>\n RWS had earlier said that the man was engaged by an appointed vendor for WaterWorld. The attraction is temporarily closed until Dec 31, 2026.<\/p>\n It added: \u201cSafety is our priority.
