SINGAPORE, May 29 \u2014 A row over a parking space in Singapore turned violent when a man pushed an 80-year-old grandmother to the ground \u2014 leaving her with a fractured spine and him with a S$4,000 (RM12,500) fine.<\/p>\n
Deng Yiwei, 42, pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct yesterday, with a judge also considering a charge of criminal violence, Shin Min Daily News<\/em> reported.<\/p>\n The incident happened around 1:50pm on August 6, 2025, outside Block 632A along Punggol Drive. Both men were on their way to fetch their children from a nearby primary school.<\/p>\n Deng arrived at a roundabout and spotted Lin Dexing, 58, parked nearby with hazard lights on. Deng then took an empty space in front of a rubbish bin.<\/p>\n But Lin claimed he had intended to reverse into that same spot. When Deng ignored his honks, Lin allegedly reversed his car to block Deng\u2019s vehicle, Shin Min<\/em> reported. Lin\u2019s elderly mother went to pick up her grandson.<\/p>\n When Deng returned with his child and domestic helper, he found his car blocked. He asked his helper to take his child away so the boy wouldn\u2019t witness any conflict.<\/p>\n After Lin returned with his mother and grandson, Deng began taking photos of Lin\u2019s car. Lin then parked sideways behind Deng\u2019s car and got out to confront him.<\/p>\n Lin\u2019s mother tried to mediate \u2014 but Deng allegedly pushed her shoulder. She lost her balance and fell, suffering a fracture in her lower spine, according to medical reports cited by Shin Min<\/em>.<\/p>\n Seeing his mother injured, Lin flew into a rage, and a physical fight broke out between the two men.
