SINGAPORE<\/span> \u2013 Motorists should expect road diversions during selected timings from June 3 to June 17 if they are travelling on the CTE near Potong Pasir or attempting to get to the PIE or CTE via Serangoon Road.<\/p>\n This is in view of road closures in the area to facilitate ongoing bridge launching works for the new pedestrian and cycling link across the PIE, the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) said in a statement on May 29.<\/p>\n The city-bound CTE Exit 8A towards PIE in the direction of Tuas will be closed from midnight to 5am on June 3, 5 and 10.<\/p>\n The city-bound CTE Exit 8A towards PIE in the direction of Tuas will be closed from midnight to 5am on June 3, 5 and 10.<\/p>\n PHOTO: URBAN REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY<\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n Motorists who need to use the exit to get to the PIE should instead use CTE Exit 7C and enter the PIE via Moulmein Road and Thomson Road.<\/p>\n Those who need to get to Lorong 6 Toa Payoh from the city-bound CTE should also exit via CTE Exit 7C and continue via Moulmein Road and Thomson Road before connecting to the Changi-bound PIE and Lorong 6 Toa Payoh.<\/p>\n Also, the section of Serangoon Road that leads to the Tuas-bound PIE and north-bound CTE will be closed from midnight to 5am on June 4, 6, 7, 12 and 17.<\/p>\n Motorists on Serangoon Road who need to travel towards Tuas via the PIE should enter the expressway via Balestier Road, Moulmein Road and Thomson Road.<\/p>\n The section of Serangoon Road that leads to the Tuas-bound PIE and north-bound CTE will be closed from midnight to 5am on June 4, 6, 7, 12 and 17.<\/p>\n PHOTO: URBAN REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY<\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n To get to the north-bound CTE via Serangoon Road, motorists should use Upper Serangoon Road and Braddell Road instead.<\/p>\n The URA added that barricades and traffic diversion signs will be put up to guide motorists.<\/p>\n The authority advised motorists to plan their routes in advance, drive carefully and follow the directional signs displayed.<\/p>\n The pedestrian and cycling link aims to boost connectivity between Potong Pasir and Bendemeer as part of the Bishan-to-City Links project.<\/p>\n The 682m-long cycling bridge will span a 14-lane section of the PIE<\/span><\/a> near St Andrew\u2019s Junior School.<\/p>\n It will form part of a new 1.2km link that will allow pedestrians and cyclists to travel between the park connector next to St Andrew\u2019s Junior College and the neighbourhood park at Jalan Taman.<\/p>\n The Bishan-to-city cycling route was mooted by URA in 2015, with infrastructural improvements presented to the public for feedback at an exhibition in 2017.
