We want you to come\u201d.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">The United States\u2019 new tourism chief, Nick Adams, boldly delivered the invitation at last week\u2019s IPW Fort Lauderdale inbound travel trade show in Florida.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">\u201cWe can protect our borders and open our doors at the same time,\u201d he insisted. \u201cWe want you to have a great vacation. There is no country like America on Earth.\u201d<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">Australian-born Adams, who obtained US citizenship in 2021, was appointed in March to the newly created position of special presidential envoy for American tourism, exceptionalism and values. US President Donald Trump had lauded the conservative commentator as an \u201cincredible patriot\u201d when he initially nominated Adams as US ambassador to Malaysia \u2013 a diplomatic posting that ultimately fell through.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">\u201cThe United States had never had the global equivalent of a [dedicated travel minister]; the only country in the G20. So tourism had never been represented at the presidential or White House level,\u201d Adams said.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">\u201cAll of that changed when President Trump appointed me as his special presidential envoy for tourism. So, I\u2019m very excited.
