When Rebecca Lim asked Kyden about the instances where he has had to give in to his cousins, he replied: \u201cI will let them play first [if we both want the same toy].\u201d<\/p>\n
Kim Lim added: \u201cHe\u2019s quite good in that way. That\u2019s why I think this has trained his maturity. I think he\u2019s more mature than me \u2013 his patience level is really very high. So that\u2019s why maybe, in school, sometimes, if [he gets] bullied a bit, you know kids these days are like that, he just lets it happen.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
She then shared something she often jokes about: \u201cWhen I was pregnant with Kyden, I used to go to the temple and pray to Guan Yin Ma (the Goddess of Mercy) because I\u2019m Buddhist. I always said, \u2018Please give my son good character, let him be kind.\u2019<\/p>\n
\u201cAfter these few years in school, I\u2019m like, can I go back and retract the prayer? He\u2019s too kind already. Can I renegotiate with Guan Yin Ma?\u201d she added, bursting into her signature rambunctious laugh.<\/p>\n
Even when his mother nags at him, Kyden simply responds with a nod and a simple \u201cokay\u201d or \u201cyes, Mummy,\u201d leaving Kim Lim both proud of the young man he\u2019s becoming, but also slightly worried that he may be too easily taken advantage of.<\/p>\n
