the fourth man, Lee Yong Ze, is still before the courts.

According to court documents, five Grab drivers were involved in the ruse, but the fifth person was not charged on Nov 28, 2025.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Jheong Siew Yin said Wang was the one who introduced the loophole in Grab’s courier service GrabExpress to the other Grab drivers.

As part of the service, Grab drivers are paid a commission fee for every successful delivery.

If they fail to make the delivery, they must return the item to the sender and indicate on the Grab mobile application that the parcel has been returned.

Grab will then cancel the delivery job and pay the driver for each attempted delivery.

DPP Jheong said the drivers behind the fraudulent transactions would accept GrabExpress bookings and immediately indicate on the application that the parcel was returned.

In reality, they had made no attempt to collect the items.

Court documents did not state if the affected senders alerted Grab when no one came to collect the items for delivery.

The prosecutor said each of the five drivers operated multiple Grab driver accounts registered under the names of other people but used their own profile photos.

“These drivers also exploited the fact that Grab did not conduct cross-checks of the profile photos of Grab drivers,” DPP Jheong noted.

The DPP said that between May 8, 2025, and June 11, 2025, Wang repeatedly exploited the loophole and deceived Grab into believing he had carried out 667 attempted deliveries and cheated the firm into paying him $8,964.90.

The court also heard that from May 29, 2025, to June 10, 2025, he deceived Grab into believing that he had carried out 459 attempted deliveries and deceived Grab into paying $5,403 in delivery fees.

The ruse came to light when Grab conducted internal checks in 2025 and detected the fraudulent transactions from 24 Grab driver accounts operated by five drivers.

Wang was arrested on July 7,
