Back in 2016, Senior Minister (SM) Lee Hsien Loong<\/a> stunned the internet when a photo of him executing a deep Asian squat\u00a0<\/a>while taking pictures of a crowd went viral.<\/p>\n Now, a full decade later, SM Lee has done it again.<\/p>\n In a video posted on PM Lee\u2019s Instagram today (May 20), the 74-year-old Senior Minister shared that he managed to \u201csqueeze in some #jalanjalan over the past two days in Nanning\u201d.<\/p>\n SM Lee is currently on a five-day business trip to Nanning in Guangxi, China, with the aim of \u201cbuilding on the momentum of high-level exchanges between Singapore and China and deepening Singapore\u2019s ties with China at the regional level,\u201d according to an official statement from the PMO.<\/p>\n \u201cTook in some fresh morning air at Qingxiu Mountain yesterday, the \u2018green lung\u2019 of Nanning. Enjoyed the lush greenery, beautiful landscaping, and picturesque city views,\u201d SM Lee wrote in his caption.<\/p>\n During the trip, SM Lee also learnt more about cycads \u2014 an ancient group of plants dating back to the age of dinosaurs \u2014 strolled through the historic and cultural district of Sanjie Liangxiang, sampled local street food, and even tried his hand at weaving brocade before heading to Shanghai next.<\/p>\n But what really caught netizens\u2019 attention was just how fit SM Lee is.<\/p>\n In the clip, SM Lee was seen photographing a pavilion at Qingxiu Mountain, effortlessly squatting down to get the perfect angle for the shot.<\/p>\n What impressed viewers even more was how he kept lowering himself between shots without needing to stand up for a break, eventually pulling off what netizens later described as the \u201cperfect\u201d Asian squat.<\/p>\n In fact, last year, SM Lee\u00a0was also spotted doing the same thing to snap photos of a kid<\/a> at the Kampong Glam Bazaar.<\/p>\n \u201cWah, that hinge and squat! Absolute respect,\u201d one netizen commented, while another said they \u201ccouldn\u2019t help but admire SM Lee\u2019s fitness with that squat.\u201d<\/p>\n A netizen also applauded SM Lee\u2019s \u201cstrong legs\u201d, and another commended him for his \u201csolid core, hip flexors and quads!\u201d<\/p>\n Earlier this week, the SM Lee also drew praise for flying to Nanning on a budget Scoot flight.<\/p>\n \u201cIf Scoot is good enough for him, Scoot is good enough for me,\u201d one netizen remarked.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
