The eatery was also especially popular with airline crew and aviation veterans, earning a loyal following among pilots and cabin crew from Qantas and other international airlines.<\/p>\n<p>A Facebook post by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/HARSAviationMuseumAlbionPark\/posts\/fattys-in-singapore-will-close-on-29-june-after-100years-it-is-more-than-a-resta\/1297381289086528\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Australia\u2019s HARS Aviation Museum<\/a> described the restaurant as \u201cmore than a restaurant but a genuine piece of history for veterans and aircrew alike\u201d, adding that \u201cQantas people in particular will be devastated\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The post also referred to staff members \u201cSkinny\u201d and Kelvin as being \u201camongst the most loved people of airline aircrew who visit Singapore\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>In its announcement, the management said the decision to close was made after \u201cmuch consideration\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile the shareholders and management are advancing in age, and the younger generation have pursued their own careers, we find ourselves without a successor to continue the business,\u201d the notice read.<\/p>\n<p>The restaurant also thanked customers for their \u201cloyalty, patronage, and friendship\u201d over the years.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are deeply grateful for the unwavering support and encouragement you have shown us throughout the years,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n<p>The closure marks the end of an era for yet another heritage F&amp;B business in Singapore, amid rising operating costs, changing consumer habits and succession challenges faced by family-run establishments.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/cnalifestyle.channelnewsasia.com\/dining\/wing-seong-fattys-singapore-closing-100-years-airline-crew-cantonese-restaurant-583246\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Read Full Article At Source <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Over the decades, Wing Seong Fatty\u2019s became a familiar name among diners seeking traditional Cantonese cuisine in the Bugis and Albert Street area.
