Back in April, CardUp launched its promotions<\/a> for the 2026 income tax season, which featured a 1.73% and 1.7% fee for one-off and recurring tax payments respectively.\u00a0<\/p>\n

If you\u2019ve finished utilising these promotions,\u00a0CardUp is now running a follow-up offer which features a 1.77% fee<\/strong> for either one-off or recurring payments. This could very well be the last tax promotion before CardUp hikes its service fees<\/a> across the board from 13 June 2026,<\/strong> so it might warrant some consideration.\u00a0<\/p>\n

CardUp customers who have completed an income tax payment between 14 April to 9 June 2026<\/strong> are eligible for a 1.77% fee on one-off and recurring personal payments<\/strong>, using the promo code 177BONUS.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This code is valid for up to two<\/strong> redemptions per user, for payments that are:<\/p>\n

  • Scheduled by 9 June 2026, before 6 p.m<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • With due dates on or before 12 June 2026<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    There is no minimum or maximum amount that can be paid, though all payments must be made with a Singapore-issued Visa or UnionPay card.<\/p>\n

    If you completed your tax payment recently, your account may not yet be eligible for the 177BONUS code. According to the T&Cs, the code is meant to be sent out within seven business days, so give it some time and try again.<\/p>\n

    What\u2019s the cost per mile?<\/h2>\n

    Here\u2019s the cost per mile for various Visa cards in Singapore, given their earn rates and a 1.77% admin fee.<\/p>\n

    To illustrate how this works, suppose you have a S$1,000 bill and make a one-off payment with CardUp using a 1.77% code:<\/p>\n

    • S$1,017.70 will be charged to your credit card (S$1,000 bill + 1.77% fee)<\/li>\n
    • Assuming a 1.4 mpd card, you will earn 1,425 miles (S$1,017.70 x 1.4 mpd; ignoring rounding)<\/li>\n
    • Given a S$17.70 fee, the cost per mile is 1.24 cents each (S$17.70\/1,425 miles)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Remember, both<\/strong> the bill payment amount and the CardUp fee are eligible to earn miles.<\/p>\n

      Conclusion<\/h2>\n

      CardUp customers who have completed tax payments since 14 April 2026 will be able to make additional personal payments with a 1.77% fee.<\/p>\n

      However, these payments must be completed by 9 June 2026, so there isn\u2019t a lot of time to act. Remember, CardUp will revise its service fees from 13 June 2026, and we don\u2019t know yet what it will look like (though I\u2019m quite certain it won\u2019t be lower!).<\/p>\n
