You’re basically looking for what looks like giant teeth stuffed into a chunk of rock. Throughout the area around Ruby’s second blackbox, you’ll find clusters of enamel lodged in the side of cliffs. For reference, that’s about 250 meters south-southeast of the Alien Ruins, and there’s a chance you’ll find creature enamel in any of the rock formations throughout this area. Get your sonic resonator out and fire off a charged blast to collect the enamel. You get two pieces of enamel on average per deposit. It doesn’t seem like much, though you don’t need large quantities of it initially anyway.

Make sure you’ve got some flares with you as well. Needler mangoes are all over the place here, and they won’t stop firing needles at you until you leave the area. However, they get distracted when you toss a flare at them and will leave you alone for a bit. Some of them are quite deep, below 250 meters. You won’t have a depth module yet for your tadpole if this is the first time you’re gathering creature enamel, so if you want to go deeper than 250 meters, make sure to exit the vehicle once you hit that depth mark.

                        Best creature enamel farming spot in Subnautica 2

<picture>
        </picture>Image: Unknown Worlds/Krafton via Polygon

If you want to get a lot of enamel fast, the best place to do it is about 250 meters south-southeast of the Alien Ruins marker. You’ll find several enamel deposits here, along with some research platforms where you can snag a few items.

That said, you only need one piece of creature enamel to make enameled glass, and you only need two pieces of enameled glass to make the tadpole’s depth module.
