As you play Final Fantasy 14<\/em>, you\u2019ll unlock the ability to dress your character up, while also keeping the good stats of high-level gear. This is referred to as glamour<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

In this FFXIV <\/em>guide, we\u2019ll talk about how to unlock glamour <\/strong>and how fancy up your gear in a variety of ways, using the glamour dresser and plates to automate your fashion to a click of a button.<\/p>\n

Update (May 13)<\/strong>: We’ve updated this guide with the glamour changes introduced in patch 7.4.<\/p>\n\n

\n How to unlock glamour in FFXIV
\n <\/h2>\n

Glamouring allows you to use glamour prisms<\/strong> to project the appearance of a piece of equipment over the equipment you\u2019re wearing. As of patch 7.4, you can glamour the armor pieces of one job’s gear on top of another’s. This means that if you want to be a tank in a White Mage gown, you can do that now!<\/p>\n

To unlock the ability to glamour, you need to be at least level 15<\/strong> and be far enough in the main scenario quests to access Western Thanalan<\/strong>. In Vesper Bay, you\u2019ll find a female NPC with an eccentrically colored outfit named Swyrgeim<\/strong>, who will give you the quest \u201cIf I Had a Glamour.\u201d<\/p>\n

Once you do this, you\u2019ll be able to use the Glamour skill, found in the general tab of your actions and traits window.<\/p>\n\n

\n Manually glamouring individual items
\n <\/h2>\n

You can manually glamour single items by using the Cast Glamour<\/strong> skill. You can access that from the actions and traits menu. You can also open your character menu or inventory and select the gear you want to glamour and click \u201ccast glamour.\u201d Casting glamour costs one glamour prism per item.<\/p>\n

\n How to use the glamour dresser and armoire to make glamour plates
\n <\/h2>\n

You can find glamour dressers<\/strong> and armoires <\/strong>at each inn in the major cities like Ul\u2019dah, Limsa Lominsa, Kugane, and the Crystarium. You can also find them inside your Grand Company barracks.<\/p>\n

Putting an item into the dresser costs one glamour prism.<\/p>\n
