Pok\u00e9mon Winds<\/em> and Waves<\/em> were announced in February as part of Pok\u00e9mon’s 30-year anniversary celebration. Their announcement trailer offered prospective Pok\u00e9mon trainers an early idea of what to expect from the next mainline Pok\u00e9mon adventure as well as a first look at Generation 10’s new starter trio (they’re all my favorites).<\/p>\n

The Pok\u00e9mon Company shared a new look at Winds<\/em> and Waves<\/em> on Wednesday. Instead of a new trailer, though, it’s a behind-the-scenes video of the recording of Winds<\/em> and Waves<\/em>‘ main theme song. Dozens of musicians from the NHK Symphony Orchestra recorded the orchestral theme, which fans have already taken to. “There\u2019s something about live-recorded music for video games that\u2019s so satisfying to listen to,” one person commented on the YouTube video showing the recording.<\/p>\n

Interspersed with the recording are images from the games. Don’t get too excited, though \u2014 the behind-the-scenes video uses clips from the original trailer, so there’s nothing new to pore over here. But that won’t stop us, and other Pok\u00e9mon fans, from theorizing about what Winds<\/em> and Waves<\/em> will include.<\/p>\n

That initial announcement trailer offered plenty of shots to analyze frame-by-frame. Almost immediately, people obsessed over a cloud and noticed Nurse Joy got a new look. The theorizing moved over to Pok\u00e9mon Pokopia<\/em> too, as fans wondered if the spin-off was teasing a new ‘mon.<\/p>\n

In Winds<\/em> and Waves<\/em>, Pikachu gets a makeover too in the form of Mr. Windychu and Ms. Wavychu, the only new Pok\u00e9mon revealed so far aside from the starters. Expect plenty more Pok\u00e9mon to be gradually revealed as we inch closer to Pok\u00e9mon Winds<\/em> and Waves<\/em>, set to be released sometime in 2027 for Nintendo Switch 2.<\/p>\n
