Nintendo is raising the price of the Nintendo Switch 2<\/b> across multiple regions, including the North America, Europe, Japan, and yes, even Singapore and the rest of Southeast Asia. This comes less than two years after the handheld\u2019s launch. The gaming company said the revisions are being made \u201cin light of changes in market conditions\u201d and the broader global business and geopolitical outlooks.<\/p>\n
For US gamers, the updated pricing will take effect from 1 September 2026, with the standard Nintendo Switch 2 going up by US$50.<\/p>\n

Nintendo Switch Online subscription pricing in Japan will also be revised later this year.<\/p>\n This move is hardly surprising, as Microsoft and Sony has also announced price adjustments for the Xbox and PlayStation hardware respectively \u2013 no thanks to rising component and memory costs affecting the wider gaming and consumer tech industries.<\/p>\n Nintendo\u2019s Switch 2 has still been selling strongly since launch, with the company previously reporting that the handheld became its fastest-selling console during its initial release period. However, according to a report, investors have reacted cautiously to the latest pricing announcement and Nintendo\u2019s more conservative hardware sales forecast for the coming fiscal year.<\/p>\n What about Singapore?<\/h2>\nWe\u2019ve also reached out to Convergent, Nintendo\u2019s official distributor in Singapore, regarding local pricing changes. While the company confirmed that a price increase for the Nintendo Switch 2 console is coming to Singapore and the region, it said Nintendo has yet to officially brief local partners on the rollout details, including the effective date.<\/p>\n For now, Convergent says it will be withdrawing existing Switch 2 promotions with effect from 15 May, ahead of the adjustment. Pricing for Nintendo Switch 2 software and accessories, however, will remain unchanged and not impacted by this round of price adjustments.<\/p>\n In any case, if you have been sitting on the fence about getting a Switch 2, now\u2019s a good time as any to get one before the price adjustment comes into place.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n |
