Apple\u2019s rumoured camera-enabled AirPods Pro have surfaced again in a new Bloomberg report.<\/p>\n
The upcoming AirPods Pro could feature cameras embedded in both the left and right earbuds<\/b>. These cameras are not intended for capturing photos or videos. Instead, Bloomberg says these are low-resolution cameras that were designed to act as \u201cthe eyes<\/b>\u201d of a \u201cmore personalised version of Siri\u201d, allowing users to ask questions about objects or surroundings they are looking at.<\/p>\n
The visual intelligence capabilities could extend beyond object recognition. Potential use cases reportedly include contextual reminders<\/b> based on what the user sees, as well as more intuitive navigation<\/b>, such as pointing out landmarks during turn-by-turn directions.<\/p>\n
In terms of design, the next-generation AirPods Pro may feature slightly longer stems<\/b> compared to the current model. Each earbud is also said to include a small LED indicator<\/b> that lights up whenever visual data is being processed, potentially offering greater transparency around privacy and usage.<\/p>\n
Development of the device is reportedly progressing through advanced testing stages<\/b>. Prototypes are currently undergoing design validation testing (DVT), with production validation testing (PVT), the final phase before mass production, expected to follow.<\/p>\n
Apple was initially believed to be targeting a launch in the first half of the year for these new camera-enabled AirPods Pro. However, constant delays surrounding its \u201cmore personalised version of Siri\u201d feature are said to have pushed back the timeline for it.<\/p>\n
