Local actor Zong Zijie<\/a> has been fined $800 and disqualified from driving for one month after pleading guilty to a speeding charge in court on May 6.<\/p>\n The 30-year-old admitted to driving at 121km\/h along West Coast Highway towards Pasir Panjang Road at about 12.55pm on Aug 23 last year, far exceeding the speed limit of 70km\/h.<\/p>\n In court, Zijie, who was unrepresented, said he had been rushing and was late on the day of the offence.<\/p>\n According to CNA, the prosecution sought a fine of S$800 and did not ask for a driving disqualification, though it noted the NoonTalk Media artiste had prior speeding violations in April and June 2020, as well as September 2023.<\/p>\n When asked about a possible driving ban, Zijie said he hoped to avoid suspension as his work requires frequent travel.<\/p>\n For speeding, Zijie could have been jailed for up to three months, fined up to S$1,000, or both.<\/p>\n He made his acting debut at 13 in Mediacorp drama My School Daze<\/em> in 2009, and has since appeared in shows such as Your World In Mine<\/em>.
