Footage of a shiba inu dog leashed to the back of a woman\u2019s bicycle as she rides along a road in Bendemeer has sparked outrage online.<\/p>\n
The three-second video, shared on the Shiba Inu Club Facebook group<\/a>, shows a woman cycling through busy traffic with the shiba inu leashed to her bicycle. <\/p>\n Based on the surroundings, the footage was likely taken at the junction of Serangoon Road and Lavender Street. <\/p>\n As she cycles through the traffic junction, the cyclist glances back, seemingly to check on the tethered dog. <\/p>\n Stomp has reached out to NParks for comment. <\/p>\n Screenshots from the video were also shared on the Singapura Channel Facebook page<\/a>. <\/p>\n The post, which described the lady as a \u201ctotally irresponsible and brainless owner\u201d, has garnered over 160 comments and 60 shares within a day of posting. <\/p>\n Netizens felt it was very unkind of the woman to make the dog run on the road\u2019s scorching surface and exposing it to traffic.<\/p>\n \u201cWow pity the dog. Not only torture, it\u2019s dangerous also,\u201d said a Facebook user. \u201cDog deserves another better family,\u201d another said. Yet another said: \u201cIt\u2019s incredibly reckless to put any living being in harm\u2019s way like that, the roads are so hot it can damage their paws and the traffic is super dangerous isn\u2019t it?\u201d<\/p>\n Several asked for action to be taken against the cyclist. <\/p>\n \u201cTake action against her. She is not worthy to have a dog as a pet,\u201d said one netizen. \u201cDog abuse and public risk. LTA fine her and SPCA pls take the dog away. I almost had a heart attack when I saw this news on screen but not on the road,\u201d said another.<\/p>\n Others felt that instead of posting footage of the incident, the person who took the photos should have stopped the woman instead.<\/p>\n \u201cIf the situation is dangerous for the poor furkid wouldn\u2019t it be better to approach the owner directly instead of only taking photos\/videos from afar?\u201d said one Facebook user. \u201cHuh? Did anyone stop her?\u201d asked another.<\/p>\n Some suggested a reversal of roles for the cyclist to understand the suffering of the animal.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ll be happy to tie her to my bike when I go for a ride,\u201d said a netizen. \u201cDo the other way round for punishment,\u201d another said.<\/p>\n Several netizens also wanted the canine to be taken away from the cyclist.<\/p>\n \u201cHoping that authorities see this and remove her from the dog,\u201d said one netizen.<\/p>\n Have something to say?
