SINGAPORE \u2013 A transportation company director allegedly took part in a corrupt arrangement to have 10 loads of chicken compost improperly disposed of in Tuas South Way.<\/p>\n
Singaporean Kee Yuet Ting, 40, who was from KYT Transport at the time, is accused of agreeing to give Hossain Toufik a bribe of $50 for every lorry load of the waste.<\/p>\n
Hossain, 34, who is a Bangladeshi, was then a site supervisor at a company called Koh Civil Engineering.<\/p>\n
He is accused of agreeing to the bribe in exchange for Kee arranging the improper disposal of the chicken compost.<\/p>\n
On May 7, the men were each handed a graft charge for the offences said to have been committed around June 2024.<\/p>\n
Court documents did not mention if any waste was disposed of in Tuas South Way in the end.<\/p>\n
Kee\u2019s case will be mentioned again in court on May 28, while Hossain is expected to plead guilty on June 19.<\/p>\n
For graft, an offender can be jailed for up to five years, fined up to $100,000 or both.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
