We\u2019ve always felt that R2-D2 doesn\u2019t get enough love as an important team player compared to flashier Star Wars characters. This versatile droid is the reason why Luke Skywalker saw a hologram of Leia in the first place. He also helps with navigation, repairs, communications, and more. And don\u2019t get us started on the number of times he came to the rescue of his friends. He truly is the silent MVP of the franchise. This Ultimate Collector Series model kit lives up to its name, offering one of the most faithful reproductions of the classic starfighters of the Star Wars Universe within the limits of LEGO\u2019s bricks and pieces.\u00a0<\/p>\n
It\u2019s clear that the planner or designer truly appreciates the unique design of these spacecraft, given how much attention was paid to the orbicular cockpit, solar-panel-like wings, and a fitting stand to prop it all up in an iconic manner.<\/p>\n
Of course, there are other TIE Fighter LEGO sets, but there\u2019s always something off about the other sets in their design or look \u2013 like a cockpit resembling a front-load washing machine instead.<\/p>\n
This sentiment is likely shared, since you\u2019re hardly able to secure this 2015 release today without venturing into prices higher than retail on unofficial platforms. If you are a Star Wars fan and come across one on the shelf somewhere, be quick to grab it.<\/p>\n

When it was released in 2011, this Super Star Destroyer was one of the largest LEGO sets you could buy. It consists of over 3,000 pieces, weighs around 3.5kg, and measures over 1.2m long. Even today, it remains one of the largest Star Wars LEGO starships you can buy. Its sheer size alone demands a place on this list. But what makes it even more special is that it\u2019s modelled after the Executor, the personal flagship of Darth Vader. The only downer is that for a set of its size, it only came with a measly five minifigures.<\/p>\n

This is an oldie, but a goodie. Released over 20 years ago, the 10143 Death Star II was, at the time of its release, the largest LEGO set ever. It consists of 3,449 pieces and pays homage to the second Death Star. This explains why it looks partially completed. To illustrate just how big the Death Star is, the set came with a mini Super Star Destroyer. Curiously, however, it did not come with any minifigures. Even so, this was the must-have set for any diehard LEGO Star Wars collector.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Unfortunately, this set has been discontinued for a while now and can only be found on online marketplaces.<\/p>\n

The LEGO 75419 UCS Death Star is notable for its playability and its sheer size. Launched late last year, it consists of a staggering 9,023 pieces (making it the largest Star Wars LEGO set ever) and came with a whopping 38 minifigures, including the very first minifig versions of Admiral Motti, General Tagge, an Imperial Dignitary, and Galen Erso. They even threw in the fan-favourite \u201cHot Tub Stormtrooper\u201d from the LEGO\u00a0Star\u00a0Wars\u00a0video games, The Complete Saga and The Skywalker Saga. For movie buffs, the set was amazing, featuring six levels that recreated classic\u00a0Star\u00a0Wars\u00a0scenes, like the trash compactor, Princess Leia\u2019s holding cell, and the Emperor\u2019s throne room.<\/p>\n

This iconic sail barge was Jabba the Hutt\u2019s luxury transport, which he used to travel over the Dune Sea and to get to the Great Pit of Carkoon, where the Sarlacc lived. The Khetanna, as it was named, was destroyed after the scene in Return of the Jedi, but it lives on in this Ultimate Collector Series LEGO set, which consists of a whopping 3,943 pieces and 11 minifigures.<\/p>\n
The side doors of the barge can open up to show scenes like Jabba on his throne with C-3PO and R2-D2 beside him, or where Bib Fortuna is in the kitchen. There\u2019s even a Princess Leia minifigure with her depicted in her iconic slave outfit, and you\u2019ll be able to position her on the upper deck with the turret cannon.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The entire barge is over 77cm long, so you\u2019ll have to make sure to clear some space for the set before you start building.<\/p>\n

The Venator-class\u00a0Star\u00a0Destroyer first appeared on screen in Revenge of the Sith in 2005. This LEGO version is the first time it has received the UCS treatment, much to the joy of fans of this Clone Wars-era ship. Its standard of accuracy and detail, such as the dark red stripe across the hull and the twin medium dual turbolasers with accurate bracing bars between the barrels, are often cited by fans as particular highlights.<\/p>\n
As for minifigures, this set includes Captain Rex of the 501st Legion and Admiral Wullf Yularen. Notably, Captain Rex is exclusive to this set. Captain Rex is one of the most beloved characters from The Clone\u00a0Wars\u00a0animated series, making his inclusion here a significant draw. Plus, the display stand with a plaque makes it more about being a flagship display piece than a mere toy.<\/p>\n

Ask any Star Wars fan what the most recognisable starship of the franchise is, and most people would probably say it\u2019s the Millennium Falcon. LEGO has made various versions of the Falcon, but the latest \u2013 the UCS Millennium Falcon 75192 \u2013 is arguably the best.<\/p>\n
To start, it\u2019s one of the biggest Star Wars LEGO sets ever made. It consists of 7,541 pieces and, unsurprisingly, the level of detail is remarkable. Furthermore, you even get seven minifigurines, ranging from young Han Solo and Princess Leia, to Rey, Finn and BB-8 from the sequel trilogy.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Some features that are bound to please fans are the removable outer panels, which open to allow fans to recreate scenes like Han Solo and Princess Leia\u2019s first kiss. Another nice touch is the central cabin area where Chewbacca and C-3PO can sit around the holochess table.<\/p>\n
