Mr Yeo Lip Khoon, who heads the Home Team Science and Technology Agency\u2019s (HTX) xCybersecurity department, said the biggest issue now lies in finding people who can operate at the intersection of AI and cybersecurity.<\/p>\n
While finding good talent to work in AI remains difficult, the government agency is having an easier time finding cybersecurity talent after starting the search a while ago.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut what will be a challenge now, and what we plan to tackle going forward, is finding talents that have an intersection of both skills.\u201d<\/p>\n
To do this, agencies and industry players are looking to strengthen Singapore\u2019s talent pipeline and bring communities together.<\/p>\n
HTX partnered with DEF CON to bring the conference to Singapore for the first time, as part of efforts to grow the country\u2019s cybersecurity ecosystem and develop talent.<\/p>\n
Such platforms also allow participants to learn, test systems and exchange ideas, Mr Yeo said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
At the event, participants took part in hands-on challenges simulating cyberattacks on real-world systems, including those in sectors such as maritime and transport.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
