We already got a small Spider-Man set, and <em>Marvel Super Heroes<\/em> launches on June 28.<\/p>\n<p>    <!-- No AdsNinja v10 Client! --><!-- No AdsNinja v10 Client! --><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen we decided we were going to do Marvel, we decided there was so much Marvel to do,\u201d Magic lead designer Mark Rosewater said in a press preview before Friday\u2019s panel. \u201cWe weren&#8217;t going to do this one set. We were going to do multiple sets. And so I took the very first large set, which was <em>Marvel Super Heroes<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Internally, Wizards of the Coast refers to <em>Marvel Super Heroes<\/em> as \u201cAvengers Plus,\u201d since it focuses on the Avengers, Fantastic Four, Young Avengers, and Heroes for Hire. Even more Marvel characters are coming in later sets.<\/p>\n<p>    <!-- No AdsNinja v10 Client! --><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"vision-design\">\n                        Vision Design<br \/>\n               <\/h2>\n<p>Wizards often talks about \u201cVision Design\u201d when it comes to adapting crossover properties into Magic, and the preview panel took that literally when it came to Marvel. Vision, Synthezoid Avenger will be in the Avengers Assemble preconstructed Commander deck as an artifact creature with flying that seems like it\u2019ll punish blue players. Every time a player casts a spell when it\u2019s not their turn, Vision can either gain a +1\/+1 counter or phase out.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne of Vision&#8217;s powers is that he can change his density,\u201d Rosewater said. \u201cSo he can make himself very dense, which makes himself extra strong, or he can make himself lose so much density he can actually pass between objects. And when he does that in the comics, they refer to it as phasing.\u201d <em>Magic<\/em> already has a phasing mechanic that treats a creature like it doesn\u2019t exist \u2014 making it so that it cannot be targeted by spells. It&#8217;s a 2\/5 that costs four colorless mana, The Vision can trigger one of three abilities every time you cast a noncreature spell, each one modeled after one of the character\u2019s superpowers. Solar Beam gives him double strike. Density Control makes him indestructible. And Technopathy lets you draw a card.<\/p>\n<p>Wizards of the Coast also confirmed that the Vision will appear alongside Scarlet Witch in a team-up card called The Vision and Scarlet Witch. Furthermore, <em>Marvel Super Heroes<\/em> will feature Jumpstart decks, one of which will focus on the two of them called Scarlet. Rosewater also hinted that there will also be a common red card called Vision of Love showing the couple as well.<\/p>\n<p>    <!-- No AdsNinja v10 Client! --><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"the-infinity-gauntlet-and-stones\">\n                        The Infinity Gauntlet and Stones<br \/>\n               <\/h2>\n<p>The <em>Spider-Man<\/em> set included the Soul Stone as one of the biggest chase cards in recent memory, and Wizards confirmed that <em>Marvel Super Heroes<\/em> will include the Mind Stone with all the same treatments.<\/p>\n<p>The Mind Stone is an indestructible white mana rock that costs two mana and taps to generate one white mana. For six mana, you can harness the Mind Stone and activate its infinity ability. It exiles up to one target nonland permanent that you control and returns it to the battlefield under its owner\u2019s control. That\u2019s huge for any decks with cards that have enter-the-battlefield (ETB) triggers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is our headliner for this set,\u201d Rosewater confirmed. \u201cMuch like the Soul Stone, it is an indestructible artifact for two mana and it can tap for a colored mana.\u201d Soul Stone is black and Mind Stone is white, but we don\u2019t know what colors will be associated with the remaining stones.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne of the things that we decided early on when we decided we&#8217;re going to do a bunch of Marvel sets is we wanted a throughline,\u201d Rosewater said. That throughline is the inclusion of at least one Infinity Stone in each Marvel set. We\u2019ll definitely get four more Infinity Stones in future sets, but does that mean four more sets?
