{"id":47541,"date":"2026-04-26T13:10:40","date_gmt":"2026-04-26T05:10:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sgbuzz.com\/?p=47541"},"modified":"2026-04-26T13:10:40","modified_gmt":"2026-04-26T05:10:40","slug":"i-didnt-know-what-it-was-chinatown-crow-attack-victim-says-he-was-blindsided-and-pecked-multiple-times-singapore-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sgbuzz.com\/?p=47541","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;I didn&#8217;t know what it was&#8217;: Chinatown crow attack victim says he was blindsided and pecked multiple times, Singapore News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Crows were in the news recently when they attacked elderly men in Chinatown who were apparently balding or bald.<\/p>\n<p>AsiaOne was at the scene on Friday (April 24) and talked to some of them who were attacked.<\/p>\n<p>Chang Yeng Yew, 67, is one of them.<\/p>\n<p>He told AsiaOne that he was pecked at least thrice as he was walking in the area.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It flew over and I was shocked because I didn&#8217;t know what it was,&#8221; he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It pecked my head two to three times, there was nothing I could do about it.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Chang, who runs a fried bee hoon stall at Block 335 in Chinatown, said that he wasn&#8217;t afraid of the birds \u2014 but rather angry.<\/p>\n<p>When asked if he might have prepared something to protect himself from future attacks, Chang said that he did not.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;ll just let it happen,&#8221; he dismissed with a laugh.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"tiktok-embed\" style=\"max-width:605px;min-width:325px\" cite=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@asiaone\/video\/7632391037272509716\" data-video-id=\"7632391037272509716\">\n<section>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@asiaone?refer=embed\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"@asiaone\" rel=\"noopener\">@asiaone<\/a> Since April 19, locals in Chinatown have witnessed or experienced crow attacks.
