A parent took to social media accusing their child\u2019s form teacher of referring to them as \u201cjust a Grab driver\u201d, which they said was \u201cinsulting\u201d and \u201cclearly intended to belittle\u201d the profession.<\/p>\n
A screenshot of an email to the school\u2019s principal was posted<\/a> on the Facebook group PHV Community – Drive Smarter Together! on April 22, in which the parent reported \u201cinappropriate conduct\u201d by the child\u2019s primary school teacher.<\/p>\n \u201cThe teacher made insulting remarks about me, referring to me as \u2018just a Grab driver\u2019, in a manner clearly intended to belittle my profession,\u201d the parent wrote, adding that they owned multiple businesses and drives for Grab occasionally.<\/p>\n \u201cMore importantly, to degrade my son and his father in a classroom setting is completely inappropriate and has caused embarrassment and distress to my child,\u201d they added.<\/p>\n The parent also said their child\u2019s confidence and emotional well-being were affected after the incident, urging the school to investigate the matter.<\/p>\n In the comments, the parent clarified that the vice principal had subsequently contacted them, and that the teacher had acknowledged she \u201cshould be more mindful of her words\u201d.<\/p>\n \u201cSo case closed. Forgive and move on,\u201d the parent added.<\/p>\n The post gained traction on Facebook, with some netizens suggesting that the parent should not take the comment to heart, while others speculated that it may have been a \u201cmiscommunication\u201d. <\/p>\n \u201cI wouldn\u2019t be bothered by these kind of comments because it\u2019s not worth my time and effort getting angry over it,\u201d one netizen commented.<\/p>\n Have something to say?
