{"id":47334,"date":"2026-04-25T16:39:36","date_gmt":"2026-04-25T08:39:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sgbuzz.com\/?p=47334"},"modified":"2026-04-25T16:39:36","modified_gmt":"2026-04-25T08:39:36","slug":"johor-bahru-singapore-rts-link-commences-multi-train-high-speed-testing-singapore-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sgbuzz.com\/?p=47334","title":{"rendered":"Johor Bahru-Singapore RTS Link commences multi-train high-speed testing, Singapore News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>If you reside near the Johor Bahru-Singapore Rapid Transit Link (RTS) tracks and noticed multiple trains running at higher speeds, you can be forgiven for wondering if operations had begun ahead of schedule.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Over the past few months, the RTS project team has been providing periodic milestone updates.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>On Feb 5, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.asiaone.com\/singapore\/rts-link-woodlands-north-demo-operational-end-2026\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">cross-border train demonstration run<\/a> was successfully completed, with a train set making its way from the Wadi Hana depot to Woodlands North station.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Earlier on Boxing Day (Dec 26, 2025), the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.asiaone.com\/singapore\/rts-link-first-train-test\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">first train dynamic run<\/a> was completed with the train making its way uneventfully to the border between Singapore and Malaysia.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The multi-train runs at higher speeds come just \u00a0after Singapore\u2019s and Malaysia\u2019s transport ministers conducted a joint visit to Woodlands North station on Wednesday (April 22).<\/p>\n<p>A video posted by Singapore\u2019s Acting Transport Minister Jeffrey Siow shows what appears to be automated immigration gates installed, switched on and possibly undergoing tests.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" frameborder=\"0\" height=\"591\" width=\"267\" scrolling=\"no\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/video.php?height=476&amp;href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Freel%2F1661254348126880%2F&amp;show_text=true&amp;width=267&amp;t=0\" allowfullscreen=\"\" allow=\"autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; picture-in-picture; web-share\">\u00a0<\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Malaysia Transport Minister Anthony Loke was also seen holding up his Malaysian passport and posing for a photo at the gates.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.asiaone.com\/sites\/default\/files\/inline-images\/RTS-Link-Woodlands-North-Anthony-Loke-Jeffrey-Siow.jpg\" data-entity-uuid=\"43e2fcfb-c139-40f0-9332-b32464081535\" data-entity-type=\"file\" alt=\"Acting Transport Minister Jeffrey Siow (left) with his Malaysian counterpart Anthony Loke (right, holding up passport) at Woodlands North station on April 22. \" height=\"1086\" width=\"1448\" data-caption=\"Acting Transport Minister Jeffrey Siow (left) with his Malaysian counterpart Anthony Loke (right, holding up passport) at Woodlands North station on April 22.
