He then asked one of his daughters to bring a \u201cnormal\u201d pair of scissors \u2013 a regular pair they found at home \u2013 which they washed before using to cut and tie the newborn\u2019s umbilical cord. They also used a metal bowl to hold the placenta.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe managed to shower, then went to the hospital, taking our own sweet time,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n
At that point, Lim couldn\u2019t help but react in shock, exclaiming, \u201cStill take your own sweet time?\u201d<\/p>\n
When they finally arrived at the hospital and saw the gynaecologist, they were promptly scolded.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe gynae scolded us a bit for safety and hygiene reasons, and the baby was kept in the observation room for about three days,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
While Hassan acknowledged that it makes for a memorable story, he added, \u201cBut it\u2019s not something that I\u2019m proud of because of safety reasons, that\u2019s not something I\u2019d encourage others to do.\u201d<\/p>\n
His youngest may already be four, but it\u2019s clear Hassan remembers her birth as vividly as ever.<\/p>\n
He went on to suggest that the unusual experience might be why she\u2019s especially attached to him.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think [it’s because] you caught her lah,\u201d Sarah chimed in.<\/p>\n
\u201cYes, probably because I caught her like that right, now she\u2019s really really clingy,\u201d he agreed, adding that the whole experience was \u201cquite scary\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cYah, I cannot imagine, my goodness,\u201d echoed Lim, who couldn\u2019t resist cheekily praising Hassan for the \u201cgood save\u201d and a job well done.<\/p>\n
