Alex Garland’s Elden Ring<\/em> movie will be released on March 3, 2028, and will star Heartstopper<\/em> breakout Kit Connor as well as Ben Whishaw, Cailee Spaeny, and Tom Burke, A24 announced Monday.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
The full cast also includes Havana Rose Liu, Sonoya Mizuno, Jonathan Pryce, Ruby Cruz, Nick Offerman, and Peter Serafinowicz.<\/p>\n
Elden Ring<\/em>, adapted from the smash hit dark fantasy game by Dark Souls developer FromSoftware, has the “Filmed for IMAX” certification, meaning it will be optimized for, and debut in, IMAX theaters (but won’t be shot with IMAX film cameras).<\/p>\nThe announcement comes after reports started to snowball around the construction of sets in the U.K., and casting rumors started to circulate, which have turned out to be accurate. A24 says the movie will begin production in spring 2026 \u2014 in other words, now-ish.<\/p>\n
The cast features multiple alumni of previous Garland films. Connor was in Warfare<\/em>, <\/em>Spaeny starred in his TV show Devs<\/em>, and alongside Offerman in Civil War<\/em>, and Mizuno was in Devs<\/em> and Garland’s debut as writer-director, Ex Machina<\/em>.<\/p>\nSerafinowicz is the only member of the Elden Ring<\/em> cast with FromSoftware bona fides, though: He voiced Pate in Dark Souls 2<\/em>.<\/p>\nHere’s a full breakdown of the announced cast and where you might know them from:<\/p>\n
