Long overshadowed by regional tourist hotspots such as Siem Reap, Bangkok and Hanoi, Phnom Penh is quietly emerging from its troubled past.<\/p>\n

The Cambodian capital is undergoing a metamorphosis that has largely flown under the radar, from the return of cosmopolitan locals launching thoughtful ventures to the pedestrianisation of riverside Chaktomuk Walk Street and the phase one opening of the Foster and Partners-designed Techo International Airport.<\/p>\n

Alongside this is a drinks scene that has been elevated hand in hand with the city\u2019s rise.<\/p>\n

Leading the charge is Sora at the Rosewood Phnom Penh. Since opening in 2017, the bar has been shaking up the scene with an innovative cocktail programme and stunning skyline views.<\/p>\n

Years of elevating Phnom Penh\u2019s profile paid off when it became the first Cambodian bar to enter Asia\u2019s 50 Best Bars<\/span>\u2019 extended list last year, debuting at 65th place.<\/div>\n

Italian Jonas Vittur, previously from Copitas at the Four Seasons Hotel Bengaluru at Embassy One, in India, took over the reins from Hongkonger Lam Ka-tsun in July 2025, while Cambodian Nimol Leourng joined as bar manager. Following closely was a new menu titled \u201cBuild and Sip\u201d centred on building blocks \u2013 each drink is paired with a painstakingly built Lego set \u2013 and Vittur\u2019s signature storytelling.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
