Playing the piano was not even a consideration.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">He returned to the piano only after a mentor told him about a large number of piano pieces for the left hand alone.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">After exhaustive practice he made a comeback, playing recitals as South Korea\u2019s only known professional left-hand-only pianist.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">He is now preparing for a new challenge: his first joint performance with an orchestra at an international music festival next month.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">\u201cI\u2019m so, so nervous I could die,\u201d Lee, 54, says with a smile. \u201cIt\u2019s just one concerto, but working with an orchestra has its own difficulties.\u201d<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">In August 2012, Lee, then a doctorate candidate at the music school at the University of Cincinnati, in the US state of Ohio, abruptly collapsed at his home.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.scmp.com\/lifestyle\/arts\/article\/3350709\/south-korean-pianist-whose-right-hand-was-paralysed-now-wows-crowds-just-his-left?utm_source=rss_feed\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Read Full Article At Source <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When a major stroke paralysed South Korean pianist Lee Hun\u2019s right side in 2012, he first worried about whether he would ever walk again.
