Singapore: BFG Golf has been named as the Presenting Partner of the Singapore Junior Golf Championship (SJGC), an event at which S$10,000 in prize money will be awarded to the individual boys\u2019 and girls\u2019 champions as well as the team winners.<\/p>\n
The tournament will officially be titled the Singapore Junior Golf Championship (SJGC) presented by BFG Golf with the 2026 edition being held at Keppel Club from June 10-12. Entries are open to boys and girls aged 11 to 17 (as at January 1, 2026), with a valid WHS Handicap Index of 14.0 or lower for boys and 16.0 or lower for girls (as at April 1, 2026).<\/p>\n
The championship will be contested over 54 holes of stroke play. A cut will be made after 36 holes, with the top 60% of the overall boys\u2019 and girls\u2019 fields \u2013 and subsequently the top 60% within each age group \u2013 advancing to the final round. The field will be capped at 100 participants.<\/p>\n
For the first time in the championship\u2019s history, prize money will be awarded to the individual boys\u2019 and girls\u2019 champions as well as the team winners to support their development in the game. The overall boys\u2019 champion will also earn a spot in the Singapore Open in 2027, part of the Singapore Golf Association\u2019s (SGA) commitment to pipeline development.<\/p>\n
The individual boys\u2019 and girls\u2019 champions will each receive S$1,200 with the runners-up banking S$800 each. The team winners will receive S$3,000 each, the funds being channelled to the respective country golf association.<\/p>\n
Thailand\u2019s Ajalawich Anantasethakul<\/strong> claimed the A Division Boys\u2019 title in 2025, while Singapore\u2019s Chen Xingtong<\/strong> emerged as the A Division Girls\u2019 champion. Past champions of the SJGC include Chinese Taipei\u2019s Lee Chieh-po<\/strong>, who lifted the title in 2012. Lee won the LIV Golf promotions in 2024 and is now a regular on the Asian Tour, where he won the International Series Thailand.<\/p>\nThe SJGC remains a cornerstone of Singapore\u2019s player development pathway, offering junior golfers valuable competitive exposure. The championship will continue to attract strong international participation, with SGA extending invitations to players across ASEAN and the Asia-Pacific through its network of national golf associations.<\/p>\n
