href=\"https:\/\/www.mas.gov.sg\/bonds-and-bills\/auctions-and-issuance-calendar\/auction-t-bill?issue_code=BS26108W&amp;issue_date=2026-04-28\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Singapore T-bill auction (BS26108W)<\/a> will be on 23 April.<\/p>\n<p>In the previous auction on 9 April, the <a href=\"https:\/\/growbeansprout.com\/t-bill-allotment-9-apr-2026\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">cut-off yield for the 6-month Singapore T-bill rose further to 1.47%<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The latest <a href=\"https:\/\/growbeansprout.com\/t-bill-allotment-16-apr-2026\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">1-year Singapore T-bill also rose to 1.46% in the auction on 16 April 2026<\/a>, <span style=\"background-color:rgb(255,255,255);color:rgb(18,18,18);\">which is higher compared to the <\/span>yield of 1.39% in the previous 1-year T-bill auction<span style=\"background-color:rgb(255,255,255);color:rgb(18,18,18);\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>I have seen more discussion in the <a href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/BeansproutSG\">Beansprout community<\/a> about whether we will continue to an increase in the Singapore T-bill yield.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"background-color:rgb(255,255,255);color:rgb(18,18,18);\">In this article, I\u2019ll look at some of the latest indicators to help us understand what the upcoming cut-off yield might what to expect for the Singapore T-bill auction on 23 April<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<h3>#1 \u2013 US 10-year government bond yields have dipped<\/h3>\n<p>The 10-year US government bond yield was at 4.27% as of 16 April 2026, below its levels of 4.38% two weeks ago.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This comes amid falling oil prices with easing of Middle East tensions, <a href=\"https:\/\/growbeansprout.com\/weekly-update-12-apr-2026\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">with a 2-week ceasefire announced between the US and Iran.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<figure 16 April 2026, a further decline from 2.25% two weeks ago.<\/p>\n<p>Like the US 10-year government bond yield, they have also moderated from the recent high of above 2.4%.<\/p>\n<figure Singapore government bonds.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/eservices.mas.gov.sg\/statistics\/masbills\/MASBillsAuctions.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">cut-off yield was at 1.39%<\/a> the auction on 9 April from S$16.4 billion in the auction on 26 March 2026.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>If demand for the T-bill continues to decline, the same issuance size in the upcoming auction may help to id=\"what-would-beansprout-do?\">What would Beansprout do?<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"background-color:white;\">The <strong>closing yield on the 6-month Singapore T-bill was at 1.45% on 16 April 2026,<\/strong><\/span> slightly below the cut-off yield in the previous auction.<\/p>\n<p>This follows a trend of a decline in US government bond yields and Singapore government bond yields, following easing concerns of the Middle East crisis and a decline in oil prices.\u00a0<\/p>\n<div class=\"raw-html-embed\"><iframe src=\"https:\/\/flo.uri.sh\/visualisation\/13519445\/embed\" geopoliticals, I have been evaluating my financial plan to make sure it offers me sufficient security and peace of mind.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0px;\">The first step is to make sure I have can earn a higher yield on this pot of emergency cash, while maintaining the liquidity I may need.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, the closing yield on the 6-month Singapore T-bill of 1.45% remains below the <a href=\"https:\/\/growbeansprout.com\/insights\/savings\/singapore-best-fixed-deposit-rate\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">best 6-month fixed deposit rate of 1.50% p.a.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>While banks have been cutting the interest rates on savings accounts, we were still able to find<a href=\"https:\/\/growbeansprout.com\/insights\/savings\/best-savings-accounts-singapore\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> savings accounts in Singapore that offer an interest rate of above 1.45% p.a.<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/growbeansprout.com\/tools\/ssb-interest-rate-projection\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">current issuance of the Singapore Savings Bonds (SSB) offers a 1-year return of 1.40%, and 10-year average return of 2.14% p.a.<\/a>, while offering the flexibility
