A motorist who allegedly caused hurt to another driver in a traffic accident in Upper Serangoon is said to have had at least 86 micrograms (mcg) of alcohol in 100ml of breath at the time.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">This is <!-- -->nearly 2\u00bd times<!-- --> the prescribed limit of 35mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">On April 16, Lee Si Min, 26, was charged with one count each of drink driving and driving in a dangerous manner.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">Court documents stated that she was driving a car along Upper Serangoon Road at around 3am on July 30, 2025, when <!-- -->she<!-- --> allegedly beat a red light and her vehicle collided with another car, causing hurt to <!-- -->the other driver<!-- -->.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">Details about the other driver\u2019s condition were not disclosed in court documents.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">Lee\u2019s case will be mentioned again in court on May 7.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.straitstimes.com\/singapore\/courts-crime\/road-traffic-fatalities-hit-10-year-high-in-2025-with-149-dead-elderly-deaths-more-than-double?ref=inline-article\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"gap-x-04 items-center inline text-primary-60 select-auto\" aria-label=\"link\" target=\"_blank\" data-testid=\"custom-link\"><span class=\"font-body-baseline-regular inline\" data-testid=\"paragraph-test-id\">Annual road traffic\u00a0figures released in February by the Traffic Police (TP) <\/span><\/a>showed that\u00a0the number of people injured in road accidents\u00a0went\u00a0up from 9,342\u00a0in 2024, to 9,955 in 2025.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">However, the number of people arrested for\u00a0operating vehicles after consuming alcohol\u00a0fell\u00a0from 1,788 in 2024, to 1,716 in 2025.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">There were also fewer drink-driving accidents \u2013 166 cases in 2024 compared with 156 cases in 2025.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">But 12 people died in such accidents in 2024 and 2025.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">TP had said in February<!-- -->: \u201cDrink-driving accidents often result in horrific and devastating consequences, with severe injuries and fatalities, consequences that could entirely have been prevented.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.straitstimes.com\/singapore\/courts-crime\/motorist-accused-of-beating-red-light-in-crash-allegedly-had-over-2-times-alcohol-limit-in-breath\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Read Full Article At Source <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SINGAPORE &#8211;
